Want to learn how to build your own planter box? 🛠️🌱

We’re teaming up with Jade Musther from Cahoots Workshop—a queer-led DIY repair collective—for a two day hands-on workshop all about using tools, working with wood, and building confidence (and planter boxes!). You must be available for both days.

  • Wear closed-toe shoes 👟
  • Wear comfortable clothing 👕 (not too loose)

More Details about each Workshop

Session 1 ( Saturday 1 November):
Learn about timber, what types, shapes and sizes there are
Practice measuring and cutting accurately
Get to grips with drills and drivers so we can fasten that wood together
Round out all the skills for basic garden building
Do some planning for our planter boxes

Session 2 ( Saturday 15 November):
Use and practice all the skills from session 1 to build a planter box that you’ll take home

Jade Musther runs Cahoots Workshop, a queer-led DIY, repair collective and workshop based in Wellington. With a focus on making building and fixing things more accessible, Jade brings a creative, can-do attitude to every project. She’s especially passionate about sharing practical skills with women and gender-diverse people, and finding low-cost, sustainable ways to get the job done—often by bike!
