Support Groups
In the Lower Hutt Women’s Centre
We run two support groups; a monthly support group for women that have been sexually abused and a weekly drug and alcohol support group. You don’t need to enroll for these groups but just turn up to see if these groups are for you. All women are welcome.

If you have experienced difficulties in the past or present with alcohol and drug misuse and would like some support then this group is for you. The aim of the group is to promote well-being at whatever stage an individual may be. Wellbeing can be achieved by education and therapy, along with going out to the community and enjoying experiences without the use of alcohol and drugs.
This is a weekly support group for women that want ongoing support with drug and alcohol misuse.
This is a weekly open group available to all women.

A monthly three-hour support group for those who identify as women and who have experienced sexual abuse or rape at any stage of their life. The group is facilitated by an ACC accredited counsellor who is skilled in therapeutic group work.
These will be held on the first Sunday of the month from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
The purpose of this group is to offer an opportunity for women to not only survive, but thrive after experiencing trauma. The group experience promotes this by assisting its members to develop self-awareness and self-reflection at their own pace and in their own style. It is an opportunity to reclaim and retrieve split-off hurt parts of yourself and allow yourself to heal.
